A fascinating and fresh interpretation of Australian history, focusing on how the land itself, rather than social forces, has shaped the major events that led to modern Australia. to understand the present, you need to understand the past. to understand Australia's history, you need to look at how the land has shaped not just our past, but will continue to shape our future.
This is perhaps my best loved book. It's about a year in the valley- the people, the wombats, the peaches and the recipes, from lovely stinky hand lotion from the garden to peaches in champagne....stories and potions that mooch along together. It's written for adults, but older kids enjoy it too.
All children learn differently, and this book offers many fun and rewarding ways to help launch your child into literacy. These include games for coordination, concentration and focus as well as helpful steps to kickstart your child into reading and to foster a life-long love of books.
One of the aims of this book is to help parents and teachers identify children reading difficulties and then suggest ways to deal with them. This book is full of useful and practical solutions, rather than long, dense paragraphs dripping with educational theory and difficult words that are hard to pronounce.
